Crew Profile
CAPTAIN: MICHEAL PIERSE - Irish
Joined Autumn 2017
Micheal has been involved in boating from a young age having grown up in a large family on the beautiful west coast of Ireland. Spending most of his free-time on the sea
mucking around in traditional Irish currachs, it is no surprise he developed a deep seeded passion for sailing and adventure.
After graduating from University with a degree in commerce and German he went on to do his Masters in Information Systems. Deciding then it was time to join the working
world he joined British Telecom, but after 5 years of the busy corporate London lifestyle he decided he’d had his fill and packed his bags for the Great Barrier Reef.
Micheal’s career change proved to be a great success and within 2 years he had gained invaluable experience on various sailing and motor boats in the Whitsundays,
and also achieved his Australian Captain’s licence. Direction Mediterranean where he has worked on yachts ranging from 15m to 30m. The past 6 seasons have been spent on M/Y REHAB a hugely successful 21m Sunseeker charter yacht.
On a personal level, Micheal is easy-going, has a calm and reassuring temperament, and variety is indeed the spice of life so whether you feel like a relaxing slow motion
cruise or a more upbeat busy charter, Micheal will ensure it is one filled with magic moments.
Michael is a qualified diving instructor and some of his favourite pastimes and interests include diving, fishing, snow-sports, travel, history, and current affairs.
